Here is another similar gate to the other one but with a more elaborate roofline.

Please see my journal for my rules on my stock photos.

Nice! If ever you went up 'Bukit Bendera' or the hill place with a tram going up and down, I hope there wasnt a lot of people in the tram. I was seperated from my parents by the rush of people entering the tram.

I did visit Penang Hill and my friend and I ended up in separate cars on the tram. I did end up chatting with some nice Australian tourists during the ride though. Are you from Penang?

No, im from the capital city Kuala Lumpur, though I wish I came from Penang... did you manage to get some shots of the Penang Ferry? These are the most popular subject in Penang cos because the vehicle ferries are really colourful and unique. Thanks for reminding me that 'Bukit Bendera' was Penang Hill, although translated is 'Flag Hill'

I did not have the opportunity to see the Penang Ferry nor have I heard of it. Do you happen to know why they call(ed) it "Flag Hill"?

Hmm.. I think thats because thats where the first English settlers raised their Union Jack flag.. or the England flag... at least thats what Im told.

So basically the British were showing their colonization of Penang. What with it being cooler on Penang Hill...I can certainly understand them wanting to show their ownership (as well as live there).

Yeah... maybe that wasnt the age for suntanning on the beach, so they lived somewhere closer to home... I wonder if you saw the old-fashioned buildings on top of the Penang Hill. I just found out you can save the trouble of waiting for the train by driving up the hill.

Well, it was fun to ride the tram even with the wait. Yes, we did see the buildings on top of the hill such as the old hotel. Quaint.

Yup! If you went inside the building (the motel)(at the time I went there during summer) they have a bunch of university students doing some kind of thesis in there, and they show you around and serve food at the restaurant. Double duty, to get some cash I think. At least the food was nice. And there was a snake on the decorative ivy-covered patio roof, it was there on purpose, the manager seems to like it there to show to visitors. Obviously my family avoided the table under the roof. We dont want to have snakes falling into my fish and chips. Oh yeah, someone who was really impatient had to sit inside the baggage trailer of the tram to be with his travelling party. He looked weird sitting between folded baby strollers.
